Overview
With the emergence of the corona virus or the covid19, the world has experienced and seen one of the worst hit health virus that impacted globally and resulted in billions of fatalities from all corners of the world. With that being said, all sectors of the economy were affected especially the tourism sector. Almost all countries of the world laid out strict rules and regulations regarding traveling to and fro, the respective country! However, there are countries that allow unvaccinated Americans to travel to their land with necessary measures.
The global crisis has finally been controlled with vaccinations and precautionary measures. And, countries from all over the world have now started to relax on their restrictions and started opening doors to the tourism sector!
While there are still some countries that have strict policies of welcoming tourists only if they provide proof of vaccination status. For instance, in the United States, foreigners are required to either produce their vaccination certificate. Or, they may take a covid test or take one at the airport to enter the country. The rules apply not to the foreigners on a trip to the country but also to its American citizens flying back to their home from another country! However, exceptions are still made for unvaccinated Americans in some countries to travel to.
Countries where Unvaccinated Americans can travel to!
Travel restrictions have been considerably relaxed now as compared to how it was when the corona virus first broke out. Although there are still many countries that require all travelers to provide with proofs of their vaccination status and a negative report of covid before arriving to their destinations, there are some countries that have eased almost all restrictions for travelers to enter their country regardless of their vaccination status.
And hence, we will be looking at some of these countries that have relaxed the rules and regulations for people to travel, specifically for unvaccinated American citizens to enter their country!
Albania
The embassy of the United States in Albania have announced that unvaccinated American citizens can enter the country. However, they need to produce a negative report of the covid test. While, for vaccinated citizens, they can do so, without the need to produce any extra test results.
Botswana
The country of Botswana also announced that American citizens with vaccination certificates are free to enter the country. They don’t have to produce a negative covid test result. However, in the case of unvaccinated American citizens, they can enter the country but need to provide proof of a covid negative. The test taken should be within 72 hours prior to their departure.
Colombia
The American citizens with fully vaccinated double dose taken, are exempted from requirements to quarantine or produce any covid test results to enter the country. However, in cases of unvaccinated American citizens, travelers are advised to undergo pre-departure testing taken 72 hours prior to their departure on a PCR test. Or, they may take a rapid antigen test taken within 24 hours before their arrival to Colombia!
Democratic Republic of the Congo
Unvaccinated foreign nationals traveling to the Democratic Republic of the Congo are required to produce their negative covid test results. And, furthermore take another secondary test upon their arrival to the country. Vaccinated children are also need to show proof of their negative test results.
El Salvador
The country of El Salvador has waived off travel restrictions on the entry of American citizens to its country regardless of their vaccination proof or covid test results. This rule has been in effect since 2021.
Greece
Greece has implemented new covid policy that exempts any requirements to show proofs of their Covid19 status to enter their country.
Israel
The country of Israel has officially opened its door to the foreign nationals irrespective of whether they are vaccinated or unvaccinated. The travelers need not produce the results of their covid tests to enter the country as well.
Jamaica
Jamaica is another country that welcomes all American citizens and the rest of the world to its country; regardless of their vaccination status and negative covid test results.
Kenya
Unvaccinated citizens traveling to Kenya are required to produce two covid negative test results. The first PCR test should be taken 72 hours prior to their flight departure. Secondly, arrival testing rapid antigen test is done upon their arrival to the country. Vaccinated travelers are exempted from any such covid tests!
Maldives
Maldives is one of the most favored destination country for all travelers! American citizens can now enter this country without having to provide any proofs of vaccination status or covid negative results. The only thing they need is to fill out the health declaration form from online. This should be done within 72 hours of their departure to Maldives.
Norway
Norway has waived off all covid related restrictions to enter their country. This means visitors can enter Norway regardless of their vaccination status and without the need to produce any negative test results as well.
Panama
Unvaccinated American citizens are now welcome to enter the country of Panama. They can do so with their negative covid test results taken 48 hours prior to their departure to the country.
Qatar
Qatar has officially opened its doors to Americans again even to the unvaccinated citizens who wants to travel to their country. However, they undergo quarantine for 5 days upon their arrival in the country. Then, they are to take the covid test on the final day of their quarantine! Vaccinated citizens need not undergo mandatory quarantine but need to take a negative covid test upon their arrival as well.
Rwanda
The U.S. Embassy in Rwanda announced that all unvaccinated Americans that travel to Rwanda should provide a negative covid test. Moreover, they should undergo a second test again upon their arrival to the country for further precautionary measures.
Thailand
Unvaccinated American citizens can now enter Thailand by producing proofs of their health insurance and covid negative report. And, in cases where they don’t provide the test result, travelers may be subjected to a mandatory quarantine upon their arrival to the country.
United Arab Emirates
The office of the Embassy & Consulate of the United States in the United Arab Emirates updates all its Americans that, unvaccinated travelers looking forward to travel to UAE should produce a negative covid report taken within 48 hours prior to their departure. However, exceptions are made for vaccinated citizens.
