With the outbreak of the coronavirus many countries have closed down. Though there are some countries that are slowly opening up for visitors who are completely vaccinated. There aren’t many countries that allow unvaccinated travelers to enter the country. While in some countries you can still travel even if you are unvaccinated US citizens.
You can travel to some of these countries without taking a single dose of vaccine, vaccination status, or proof of vaccination. All you need to do is provide your rapid antigen test results, documentation of recovery (in case you had been tested positive in the past 6months), and no covid19 symptoms.

- Before you book your trip ticket check the travel advisory for the country you are planning to travel to.
- Every country has different travel advisory, travel restrictions, and guidance. So make sure you do your research well before you book your air ticket.

11 Countries Unvaccinated US Citizens Travel can travel
1. Slovenia
You don’t need to be vaccinated to travel to Slovenia. Slovenia allows unvaccinated travellers or citizens to travel to the country. However, unvaccinated adults need to provide
- a Digital Passenger Locator Form
- Test results of PCR (polymerase chain reaction)
- rapid antigen tests that are not older than 24hours.
2. Spain
Spain is in the heart of every person who loves traveling. Did you know? Spain was the second most visited country in the world in the year 2019. The number of tourists drops with the travel restrictions due to the covid19 pandemic. But now Unvaccinated adults citizens from the US can travel to Spain. To enter Spain you need to provide the entry requirements such as a covid recovery certificate, negative covid19 test ( rapid antigen test), or PCR test results.
If you fail to provide proof of covid recovery certificate or a fully vaccinated certificate you will not be able to enter the country. Children under the age of 12 can enter the country unvaccinated as long as the rapid antigen test is negative and doesn’t show any covid symptoms.
3. Sri Lanka
Unvaccinated adults can enter Sri Lanka. Before entering Sri Lanka Every person who is traveling to Sri Lanka needs to present the pre-travel health registration form. Also, every traveler must have covid travel insurance.
If you are unvaccinated before your flight you need to provide proof of: negative covid19 that is taken no more than 24hrs and PCR (polymerase chain reaction;) that is taken in no less than 72hours (Keep in mind self-tests are not acceptable). On your arrival, you will have a PCR test again. And even if the result is negative, you have to stay in the “Tourism Bio Bubble” for seven days for the requirement to quarantine.
4. Luxembourg
Unvaccinated US citizens and all travelers who travel to Luxembourg will be screened before their flight. Furthermore, every traveler needs to fill up the passenger locator form and show proof of negative test results of PCR; or negative Rapid lateral flow tests that are taken no more than 48hours. If you have tested positive covid19 in the past year you will need to show proof of recovery from covid19 certificate to travel to Luxembourg.
5. Iceland
Iceland has removed all the Covid19 restrictions in February 2022. To travel to Iceland you don’t need to be vaccinated neither you will have to provide any PCR or negative covid19 test results to enter the country.
6. Norway
On 12 February 2022, Norway has lifted all the covid19 restrictions including the mask rule. This means you can travel to Norway unvaccinated. Additionally, you will not have to show any PCR test results to enter the country.
Norway has removed all its covid mandatory measures including social distance, wearing a mask in public places, and the requirement to quarantine.
7. Italy
Unvaccinated children and unvaccinated adults need to fill in the passenger locator form before entering Italy.
Every traveler needs to provide proof of negative test results of a rapid antigen test that is no more than 24 hours and PCR negative test result that is within 48hours. You will also need to inform the prevention department of the local health authority.
On arrival, you will need to self isolate for 5 days. After your 5 days of self-isolation is over you have to go through another PCR test. If the test result is negative and you don’t show any covid symptoms you can leave the quarantine and go around the country as you wish.
8. Ireland
All visitors to Ireland must fill in the passenger locator form before they enter the country. In addition, you need to provide a negative test result of the PCR test that is taken in less than 72hours. If you have tested positive for covid19 in the past months you will be asked to show documentation of recovery.
9. Mexico
All tourists traveling to Mexico need to fill in the passenger locator form and have the QR code with them before they set foot in the country. To visit Mexico you don’t need to show proof results of the PCR test, Rapid antigen test or requirement to quarantine on arrival.
10. The United Arab Emirates
Unvaccinated adults traveling to the United Arab Emirates need to provide pre-departure testing of PCR that is taken within 72hours. And, a negative test result of Rapid antigen test that is taken no more than 24hours.
11. Costa Rica
Non-US citizens and other travelers visiting Costa Rica don’t need to show proof of vaccine status or negative Covid test results to enter the country. However, if you are unvaccinated it is mandatory to purchase special health travel insurance and keep it along with your health pass.
